Chadderton 4-0 Longridge Town

Chadderton continued their charge up the table with a 4-0 victory over AFC Darwen at the Ark Fleetech Stadium.

Despite losing the services of Jack Turnbull to local rivals Avro, Chadderton put on a dominant display and opened the scoring in the fourth minute through Ben Matthews.

Chadderton were two ahead by the 11th minute when Oumar Camara converted, and Dillan O’Connor added a third before the half hour mark.

Chadderton, who have enjoyed a renaissance of late with five victories in their previous six games, capped off a memorable afternoon in the dying stages when Bailley Whalley scored a fourth.

The result lifted David Fish’s side to 13th in the table ahead of last night’s (Wednesday) clash at Garstang.

Following the game, Fish offered his thoughts on Twitter: “The first 45 minutes was our best of the season. Worked hard, defended well and played some excellent football.

“Managed the game in the second half when we needed to.”

l Player of the Month for December was Jack Ward, who recorded 11 assists.
