Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to following an armed robbery in Hyde last month.

Just before 9.20am on Sunday, November 25th, a man armed with a knife entered the post office on Talbot Road.

He threatened a member of staff before stealing money from the till and a bottle of vodka. The man made is escape in a black Audi A3 that was waiting outside and drove off in the direction of Ashton Road.

Detective Constable Lee Maiden, of GMP’s Tameside CID, said: “This was obviously a terrifying experience for the woman to be confronted by this man and threatened with a knife while she was at work.

“We have already followed up numerous lines of enquiries, but unfortunately we have not yet been able to identify the man responsible and we are now asking for the public’s help.

“Please take a close look at the photo, and if you recognise this man then get in touch with police as soon as you can.

“You can contact police on 0161 856 9353 or if you prefer to speak to us anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
