Romiley Operatic Society is staging the regional premiere of Ian Fleming’s Chitty Chitty Bang bang at Stockport’s Plaza Theatre all this week.

Fly along to catch this spectacular show if you can which marks a stunning centenary of performances for the society and is truly a spectacle not to be missed.

Romiley Operatic is the first amateur society to be offered the opportunity to perform the show in the north west and has fully embraced the opportunity.

Based on the 1968 film version of Ian Fleming’s children’s book and featuring an unforgettable score by the Sherman Brothers, ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ is a family-friendly musical that audiences will find ‘Truly Scrumptious.’

The show tells the story of Caractacus Potts, his children Jeremy and Jemima, a restored old race car and their adventures.

It features many musical numbers including Toot Sweets, Me Ol’Bamboo, Hushabye Mountain and of course, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The show runs until Saturday and has been playing to standing ovations to packed audiences and is the ideal summer holiday show for young and old alike.

The performances, singing, choreography, costumes and sheer spectacle is a sight to behold and a credit to the hard work and dedication of all involved (while the wonderfully trained live dogs almost steal the show).

So don’t miss out on the opportunity of joining the Potts family and take off for some fabulously funny adventures aboard Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Tickets are available from the Plaza Box office on 0161 477 7779 or call the ROS hotline on 0161 442 3669.
