Dukinfield Town 1-2 Walshaw Sports

Town’s new management had a baptism of fire in the season opener as nine squad members were unavailable due to holidays, cricket and injuries.

It was a close affair with few chances until Town skipper Danny Parkinson broke the deadlock, however within a minute the visitors had drawn level. A 1-1 draw seemed the likely outcome until the referee awarded the visitors a last minute penalty which they duly dispatched past Towns debutant young keeper Kai Lord. This was not the end of the action though as Duki were then awarded a penalty themselves which Liam Greensmith struck well but was brilliantly saved, a la Jordan Pickford to earn the visitors all three points.
