The Evo-Stik League fixtures for the 2018/19 season have been released.

Following a league restructure, three of our local sides will now be competing in the Evo-Stik West. These are Mossley, Glossop North End and Droylsden.

Our two other sides, Stalybridge Celtic and Hyde United, will be competing in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

Following promotion last season, Hyde begin life in step seven with a home clash against Basford United on Saturday, August 18, before making their first trip of the season the following Tuesday (21st) to Witton Albion.

Darren Kelly’s side, who made national headlines last season after reaching the FA Cup first round against MK Dons, which was broadcast live on BBC Two, will start their cup campaign with home tie against Sheffield FC on Saturday, August 25.

The Tigers will renew a fierce rivalry with Stalybridge Celtic on Boxing Day at Bower Fold, before competing in the reverse fixture on Monday, April 22.

Celtic, who will be managed by former Wigan Athletic striker Simon Haworth, open their campaign with two home games in quick succession. The Bower Fold outfit face Mickleover Sports on the opening day, before hosting Marine the following Tuesday.

The first trip of the season arrives the following Saturday (25th) with a short journey to Warrington Town, while longer trips to Whitby Town and Workington arrive on Tuesday, September 11, and New Year’s Day respectively.

In the Evo-Stik West, Droylsden kick off the season with a home tie against recently promoted Runcorn Linnets, before hosting near neighbours Mossley on Tuesday, August 27. The reverse fixture will take place on New Year’s Day.

The Lilywhites, who will be managed by Dave Wild and Terry Hincks, begin their campaign with a trip to Chasetown, before hosting Widnes at Seel Park the following Tuesday.

Glossop will be competing in step eight for a fourth consecutive season and begin the campaign with a home clash against Atherton Collieries. The Hillmen will host Mossley on Boxing Day and make the journey to Colne on New Year’s Day.

All three clubs begin their FA Cup campaign in the Preliminary Round, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 25.

Droylsden host the winner of West Didsbury & Chorlton and Squires Gate; Glossop make the journey to either City of Liverpool or Silsden; and Mossley travel to recently created Ossett United – an amalgamation of Ossett Albion and Ossett Town.

The winner of each tie will receive a prize fund of £2,890, while the losers also profit with £960.
