An appeal has been launched to send a young girl from Audenshaw on the trip of a lifetime.

Eleven-year-old Chloe Rowland suffers from a number of complex medical conditions that have left her predominantly wheelchair-bound and needing complex medical care.

However, thanks to children’s charity Caudwell, Chloe, her mum, dad and little brother William, are all set to go to the happiest place on earth – Walt Disney World.

They thought their dream holiday was out of reach due to Chloe’s medical needs, but each year the charity sends 25 children and their families to see Mickey Mouse and friends in Florida.

Chloe’s mum Sarah Tomlinson explained: “We can’t go on a plane alone because she has to go on oxygen and has problems breathing.

“But Caudwell take doctors and nurses just in case there is any problems on the flight. That’s why it’s great because they’d be there to deal with any situations.”

Chloe has dreamed of a trip to Disney World for many years. A Disney fanatic, she’s already meticulously planned the trip and says she’s looking forward to meeting Tinker Bell and Ariel most of all.

Sarah said: “It’s been Chloe’s dream since she was little, she absolutely loves Disney and watches it all the time.”

But now that they’ve been selected for the trip by the charity, the race is on to help to fund the cost, which is on average £12,000 per family.

Families selected to go on the trip this year have been working extra hard to raise funds and secure donations.

Chloe’s Dad Colin said: “For us it’s a once in a lifetime trip because we’ve been told she can only go on a plane this once.

“Chloe’s not just raising money for herself but for other children like her. Any extra money goes to the rest of the trip and if they make enough for this year the extra funds go towards the trip next year.”

The entire family are thankful for the support that the charity have given them.

Sarah said: “We are hoping to raise the costs and pay Caudwell back eventually because it is so expensive.

“We will be doing a lot of fundraising over the next few years.

“We can never repay them for this holiday, ever. We can’t do it without them.”

Lots of fundraising is planned by the family, including a fun day and Disney-themed headbands, but for now you can donate online at www.justgiving.com/holiday4chloe or by texting PEAL82£ and the amount to 70070.
