Stalybridge Celtic have confirmed the signing of Danny Brady from Clitheroe.

The defender becomes manager Simon Haworth’s third summer signing.

Brady, 30, has also played for FC United. Haworth said he was delighted with the capture, while adding: “In my opinion he was the best centre half in the division last year. He’s great in the air, good on the ball and a natural leader. He will have no problem adapting to the level and I’m glad to have brought in my first defender.”

Meanwhile, Brady said: “I’ve played.my best football for Simon and Gaz, and having spoken to lads who’ve played here I know it’s a great club. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”

Brady follows in the footsteps of striker Scott Bakkor, who has joined from Skelmersdale United, and Matty Wolfenden, who has agreed to stay at Bower Fold for another season.
