This shocking CCTV footage shows the moment a 77-year-old man was left needing hospital treatment after being carried along the bonnet of a car.

Just after 4.10pm on Saturday March 10th, the victim was in his home on Chatsworth Road when he saw a silver Kia Venga collide with his Chevrolet Kalos, which was parked in a disabled space.

The man went outside to ask the driver to stop but instead, he reversed into a second parked car before driving at the man and lifting him onto his bonnet.

The driver then sped along the road while the victim hung off the bonnet. After he fell off, the driver continued in the direction of Sunnybrow Road.

The 77-year-old was taken to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.

Police have now released footage of the incident and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable Jason Bell, of GMP’s City of Manchester division, said: “This was an appalling incident and I find it completely disgusting that the offender sped off, leaving the man lay in the road.

“He showed no regard for the safety of the victim who had simply asked the man to stop after hitting his car.

“Not only did the driver fail to stop after a collision, but he seriously endangered the life of a man with his reckless actions.

“If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please get in touch so we can find the man responsible.”
