Tameside United Ladies maintained their fine form on Saturday with a 6-0 victory over Swinton Ladies at Ewen Fields.

James Caldwell’s side cruised to victory on the morning thanks to first half efforts from Nicole Denton and a Paige Connelly brace, and second half goals from Dominika Zagorska, Rebekah Coe and Rebecca Lilley.

The result means Tameside have scored 15 goals in their previous two fixtures, and conceded none in the process.

According to Caldwell, Rebekah Coe starred on the day after dominating in the midfield role and scoring direct from a corner, while Dominika, who was playing her first game in three weeks since returning from illness, was also a force in central midfield.

Elsewhere, the Under 16s maintained their four-month unbeaten run with a 2-2 draw against Oldham Athletic.

After falling 2-1 behind in the fixture, the Tigers fought back to take a share of the spoils thanks to Cerise Simpkin’s 49th minute effort. Cerise scored both goals for Hyde on the day.

Caldwell said he was impressed with Abbie Layfield and Kira Conroy, who, despite playing up a level in the Under 16s, dominated the centre of the pitch.
