Pitch Perfect North Tameside District Cubs Scouts hold annual 5-a-side football competition

North Tameside District Cubs Scouts held their annual 5-a-side football competition at Droylsden Academy.

Nine Cub Packs from across Ashton and Droylsden took part in a highly competitive competition, which ended in a very close final between 2/1st Hurst Pack and 339th Droylsden Pack.

The winners were 339th Droylsden. Lindsey from the 339th said: “The team worked very well together, encouraging and supporting each other throughout the competition.”

The team consisted of Harrison, Daniel, Riley, Bobby, Erin, Harry, Jack and Archy. Lindsey said that Michael and Paul did really well pulling the team together to work so well, while¬†Tony, the District Cub Scout Leader, said: “It was a great day, made better by the enjoyment and sportsmanship of the Cubs.”

Amanda, the Leader from the newly formed 12th Ashton Cub Pack, said: “The Cubs did great and enjoyed themselves considering it was their first attempt at joining in with a District event.”

Assistant District Commissioner, Gill Cummins, thanked Dominic Mayhew for doing a great job as the referee throughout the afternoon. She added the feedback from the Cubs and Leaders is very positive and proof that the work and support from the District Team have been well worth all the time and effort put in. She thanked all the team.
