Curzon Ashton have confirmed the signing of midfielder Ben McKenna from Stockport County.

The 25 year old winger made his professional debut in the Football League for Carlisle United in 2010.

A loan move to Scottish side Annan Athletic followed for McKenna, where he appeared 19 times.

A former Northern Ireland U19 international, Ben has vast experience in the National League North, previously appearing for Bradford Park Avenue, Workington and Stalybridge at this level.

Ben joined County last summer from Southport, having scored two goals in 18 appearances for the Sandgrounders in the 16/17 season.

On McKenna’s arrival, John Flanagan said: “I’m very pleased to have added Ben to our squad. He’s a player who I’ve attempted to sign on a number of occasions in the past, but for one reason or another, it’s not happened. So I’m delighted to have got it over the line this time.”

Curzon return to league action on Saturday (tomorrow) against Gainsborough Trinity at the Tameside Stadium.
