Garstang 1st 81-19 Ashton 1sts

Following two successive victories, Ashton were brought back down to earth at leaders Garstang. Despite being in the game 19-12 at HT with tries from Richard Taylor , Joe Robinson and Conan Bligh, plus two conversions form Josh Pattison, Garstang exploited some defensive holes to boss the second half. Despite the loss, Ashton took solace in an impressive debut performance from Connor Barwin.

The first team will look to bounce back this weekend at home to Clitheroe.

Ashton seconds remain top of the league after Village Spartans conceded the tie. In light of this, the seconds arranged a friendly against Flint from north Wales, but lost 17-24. ¬†Ashton came back strongly from 10-0 down early on, with tries from Josh Hulme, Dan Jones and Will Patchett, Josh Ogden converted one. Ashton’s squad continues to expand with a further three players on debut and a total of eight of last years Colts playing senior Rugby.

Blackburn U16s 10-31 Ashton U16s

Jack Pietsch (2), Aron Lancaster (2), and Jake Callaghan got the tries with three conversions by Dom Jackson.

Glossop U14s 24 -40 Ashton U14s

Ashton had never beaten this Glossop team before and suffered a heavy defeat at home recently, and after going 19-5 down they showed great character to turn it around with five tries and conversions by Tom Ainsworth, while Tom MacKowaik also scored in a great team performance.

Ashton U9s were in action at Oldham losing 5-2, but they did manage to beat Littleborough 11-2. Tries from Kendal Grayson, Oscar Sibley, Molly Walmsley, Dylan Roberts and Eddie Roberts.
