Hyde United 5-0 Goole

Hyde extended their unbeaten league run to six fixtures with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over bottom club Goole at Ewen Fields on Saturday.

The result leaves the Tigers in third spot and within three points of leaders South Shields.

Darren Kelly’s side cruised to victory on the afternoon, thanks to first half goals from Janni Lipka, Matt Beadle and Tom Pratt, coupled with second half efforts from Marcus Marshall and Luke Poritt.

Hyde started the game the livelier side and eventually took the lead in the 17th minute. Marshall caused problems down the right wing and pulled the ball back to Lipka on the edge of the box, who fired a curling effort into the bottom right corner past Ben Saynor in goal.

The Tigers were made to wait until the 43rd minute to double their lead. After finding space in the middle of the pitch, Tom Pratt executed a defence splitting pass through to the onrushing Beadle, who darted forward and took it round the keeper before slotting into an empty net.

Hyde went in search of another goal before the half-time whistle, and their efforts were rewarded with practically the last touch of the half. Big Khamsuk hit a cross field ball to the overlapping Porritt, who darted forward and rounded the keeper before hitting a shot at goal. The defender did well to clear off the line, but Pratt was on hand to tuck away from close range.

Alfreton Town loanee, Marcus Marshall made it 4-0 in the 69th minute. After meeting Porritt’s pass on the edge of the box, Pratt took it round the keeper before squaring to Marshall who slotted home from four yards out.

Porritt had performed brilliantly throughout the afternoon and his efforts were rewarded with his own goal in the 87th minute. After being awarded a penalty, Beadle’s spot kick was saved well, but Poritt followed up and forced the ball across the line.

Kelly’s outfit will be looking to make it seven games unbeaten this weekend with a trip to 17th place Brighouse Town.
