Quest Media Network Ltd, the umbrella company behind the Tameside Reporter and Tameside Radio are celebrating after scooping a prestigious award at the Pride of Tameside Business Awards last night (2 November).

They were named the best “digital, creative or media business of the year” in a glitzy presentation at Dukinfield Town Hall.

Over 250 people attended with more than 20 awards presented to a wide-range of Tameside businesses.

Andy Crane hosted the evening

The awards showcase the best businesses in the borough and categories ranged from best retail business, best apprentice and entrepreneur of the year.

The judges praised Quest for its community links and providing post-16 work experience opportunities with local colleges.

Tameside Reporter editor Nigel Skinner said: “We are all delighted to have been named best digital/creative/media business of the year in these prestigious awards.

“The judges recognised the strong links we have built with the whole community of Tameside.

“Not least because one key focus behind our entry for the award was our ‘Bring a pound day campaign’ to raise funds for the Tameside Macmillan Unit at Tameside Hospital earlier this year – a campaign which everyone in our business played a part – and which of course raised a phenomenal £7,000 in just one day.

“The judges also recognised the close links we have with colleges to provide valuable work experience at the radio and newspapers for students in post 16 education.”

Quest Managing Director Martin Frost said he was ‘thrilled’ praising the hard work that has been put into making QMN the key source of information for entertainment and news in the areas the business covers.

“The award is a reflection of a team effort by everyone at QMN and to be recognised externally for that effort is truly wonderful,” he added.
