Evo-Stik Premier Division:

At the the town that inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Celtic were given a bite of reality on Tuesday night.

Whitby Town simply blew Celtic out of the water. Celtic just didn’t get going all night. After only ten minutes Weledji bagged the opener. Against the run of play Aaron Burns levelled up for The Celts with a slightly deflected effort. But as it seemed Celtic were getting a foot hold in the game the second half proved the real scare. Whitby made it 2-1 minutes after the restart with Carson bagging from a quick counter attack. Celtic huffed and puffed but could not get any rhythm on a bumpy pitch. The home side had no such problems and passed Celtic off the park. As the game came towards a tame ending Whitby cranked up the gears and killed The Celts off. Honeyball could only turn into his own net with 5 minutes left. Before Carson cheekily dinked a shot over Slinn when one on one to wrap up a deserved victory. A result that has a few Celtic fans stratching their heads after an excellent display on Saturday. If Celtic have learnt one thing already this season its that this league is anything but predictable.
