Curzon Ashton have confirmed the signings of Niall Cummins and Danny Shaw.

Cummins, a striker, is something of a fans’ favourite at the Tameside Stadium, having been with the club for four years.

He is best known for scoring the goal at Harrogate Railway Athletic in 2014, which clinched the Evo-Stik Division One North title for the Nash.

More recently, Cummins helped John Flanagan’s side to the FA Cup first round last season, after scoring in the 2-1 victory over York City.

Shaw, a defender, has also re-signed for the club.

A strong leader at the heart of defence, Shaw has been an instrumental figure in Curzon’s rise up the leagues in recent years.

He suffered some injury problems last season and was sent out on-loan to Ashton United.

Upon returning to the Tameside Stadium, he produced a number of notable performances which helped Curzon to a mid-table finish in the National League North.

Shaw and Cummins join a growing list of players to have signed for the club, including Olly Thornley, Joe Guest, Cameron Mason and Paul Marshall.

Goalkeeper Hakan Burton has left the club, along with striker Matty Warburton, who has joined Stockport County.
