Some several hundred members of the Scouting services have been on parade this afternoon to mark St George’s Day in Ashton and Stalybridge.

Scouts from North Tameside District, Droylsden and Ashton, stepped out in style on parade, which started on Old Street outside Harrington and Hallsworth.

The Scouts then marched along the side of the market and back onto Old Street up to Albion Church for their service, which this year was carried out by 2nd Ashton Scouts.

In Stalybridge the Scouts paraded to Stalybridge Methodist Church for their service.

Civic dignitaries and local politicians also attended to lend their support.

Pictures from the parades will appear in this Thursday’s Tameside Reporter (April 27 edition).
