Oldham Rugby League Club’s Community Trust has received a £500 ‘Respect Our Community’ (ROCA) award, run by First Choice Homes Oldham.
The award will support one of the rugby club’s Community Trust schemes which is closely linked to The Oldham Pledge (Passport to Success).
It will promote the qualification of ten junior sports leaders from schools in the Pledge’s pilot scheme. They will then assist the club’s community arm in the running of a Summer Camp at Hathershaw School.
Speaking on behalf of the Trust, Oldham RLFC chairman Chris Hamilton (pictured) said: “We are grateful to First Choice Homes Oldham and to the selection panel.
“The Trust is firmly committed to Pledge — and the scheme to provide junior sports leaders is directly associated with that initiative.”
Pledge requires children at member schools to undertake 14 pledges which are designed to make them school ready, life ready and work ready.
