Stalybridge Celtic chairman, Rob Gorski, has scheduled an important meeting on Thursday night at Bower Fold.

Gorski posted the following statement on the club’s official forum on Monday evening:

Ladies and gents,

I would like to invite you all to a meeting at the club, this Thursday, 23rd February. The meeting will take place in the Social Club and will begin at 7.30pm prompt.

Given that not everyone has internet access, can I kindly ask everyone to spread the word so that we get as many people as possible to attend.

This is not some sort of “How is the weather?” type of meeting. I would very much like every single supporter to attend if possible. It will be worth their while!

Please forgive the lack of an agenda and please don’t bother asking the board, or Michael, as they won’t be able to answer you either. I’d thought about waiting until Wednesday to announce the meeting in order to minimise the speculation, but it’s more important to give everyone advanced warning so that they can attend.

This is a VERY positive meeting, so please, no ridiculous speculation that we are permanently closing the gates tonight or whatever.

I have asked for this post to be locked and I won’t be commenting on any rumours – be it that we are going bust, or we are signing Lionel Messi. There will be no denials, but please don’t read anything in to that either.

It really would be tremendous if we got a vast turnout of fans, (maybe we’ll have to end up holding it outside; wrap up well!) so PLEASE try and contact non-internet users so everyone is aware of the meeting.

PS…Back the ‘Bridge attendees, I do apologise for the clash of dates, but could I kindly ask you to postpone Thursday’s meeting please.

I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday.
