A young girl described as a teenager, was taken to hospital this afternoon following a member of the public reporting her behaviour as being of ‘concern for welfare’.

Police attended and discovered the girl on the “right side of the bridge” on Clark Way, Hyde overlooking  the M67 Motorway close to junction 3.

Two police vehicles and an ambulance were in attendance and  the girl was spoken to by police at around 12.17 pm.

Police say she was persuaded to voluntarily go to hospital where she remains.

The M67 was the scene of the tragic death of Sophie Moura, who fell from a road bridge traversing the motorway a few hundred yards away, just two weeks ago.
