Appeal for witnesses as van collides with pedestrian.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Lower Bredbury, Stockport, in which a male pedestrian was left with serious head injuries.

The incident happened around 1.00am on Thursday, 13 October 2016, and police were called  just after 1.10am by the ambulance service after they attended the scene to deal with the victim who was badly injured.

The  32-year-old victim was struck by the nearside of a white Ford Transit van and suffered the injuries before being taken to hospital.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward and contact them. No arrests have been made.

Police Constable Seamus Toal, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The pedestrian suffered serious injuries to his head and is still receiving treatment in the hospital’s critical care unit.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the van being driven prior to the incident, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
