The Tameside Football League continued in its usual fashion at the weekend, with a combined total of 160 goals scored in league and cup competition across five divisions.

In the Sports Tours International Division One, Bulls Head Athletic tightened their grip at the top of the table with a 5-1 victory at Ardwick Community FC.

A wonderful four goal display from Sam Jones helped his side earn maximum points.

Second place Vulcans FC were involved in round three of the Challenge Cup against Clarence FC.

An Anthony Jones brace, combined with solitary efforts from Nathan Parr and Christopher Perry helped Vulcans soar to a 4-0 victory.

Old Ball FC picked up their first point of the season in a 4-4 thriller at Snipe FC.

Despite the result, Old Ball still sit second bottom having played seven games to date, while Snipe sit in fifth spot on seven points.

In Division Two, Crown Point Tavern condemned AFC Sportsman Hyde to their sixth straight league defeat in a more than convincing 14-0 victory.

The result leaves the sides sitting at opposite ends of the table, with Crown Point flying high in first place, while Sportsman are rooted to the bottom.

Lodge FC, who occupy second spot, fell to a surprising 6-5 defeat to Levenshulme FC.

Reddish North End were eliminated from the Challenge Cup after falling to a 9-1 loss to Dom Doyle FC.

Meanwhile, Cotton Tree FC claimed their second victory of the season with a 6-0 win against Corporation Arms.

Dom Doyle Rangers maintained their stranglehold at the top of Division Three with a convincing 6-0 victory over Hyde Athletic.

A Joel Castle brace combined with individual efforts from Curtis Beaumont, Gene Hoole, Liam Hoole and Carl Walker helped the Denton based outfit to maximum points.

Bohemian Lounge maintained the pressure in second place with an 11-2 victory over Oxford Inn FC, while Star Inn FC edged their way to a 1-0 win over Iraq FC.

Tameside Wolves remain pointless after five games following a 4-1 loss to Newton Villa FC.

In the Under 19’s league, Elton vale remain at the top of the table on 18 points, while Oldham Rangers lie in second following a 6-0 victory over Rocs FC.

Avro progressed to the Challenge Cup third round with a 5-2 win over Heyside Blues.

Elton Vale also top the Under 17’s league, having beaten Waterloo 6-0 on Sunday.

Chadderton Park Phoenix occupy second spot, while Rocs stay third despite not playing at the weekend.
