Glossop road closure set to cause delays

Motorists are warned of a potential month-long delay along a stretch of a Glossop road.

The Derbyshire Level, as it’s known locally, is expected to be temporarily closed from its junction with Kidd Road to its junction with Hurst Road from Monday 26th September until Monday 24th October.

The closure will allow utilities contractor Excalon to lay new electrical cables, Derbyshire County Council have confirmed.

The approximate 3 mile diversion will be signposted and be via the A624, A57 and Hurst Road.

The road will reopen as soon as possible which may be earlier than expected.
