Droylsden Sign Flurry Of Players Before Season Opener At Lancaster On Saturday

Droylsden Football Club have signed a number of new players ahead of the forthcoming campaign.

The Bloods will be competing in the Evo-Stik First Division North for the third consecutive season.

A number of fresh faces have joined the club, while a few have rejoined after impressing manager Dave Pace last season.


James Coates – An experienced keeper with great attributes, James has signed from Welsh premier League outfit, Airbus UK Broughton.


Aaron Walters – Joining from Radcliffe Borough, Aaron is described as an attacking full back who loves nothing better than taking on the opposition and putting them on the back foot.

Phil Clarke – The 27-year-old joins from Flint Town having previously played for Rhyl. Phil is described as a Defensive Midfielder.

Yomi Samuels – The right back had a few starts with Droylsden last season. The 20-year-old will be looking to establish himself in the main body of the team during the forthcoming campaign.

Josh Heaton – The 19-year-old joins from Preston North End. A central defender, Josh signed professional terms with the Football League club at the beginning of last season. He spent the majority of the 2014/15 season on loan at Tamworth.


Luke Daly – Previously at Manchester United, Luke joins the Bloods from Burnley having impressed while on loan last season.

Danny McLoughlin – Danny returns to the club after a short spell towards the end of last season at New Mills. Described as a skillful and tricky player, the club are hoping that Danny can unlock his potential this season.

Eddie Toner – Joining from Northwich Victoria, Eddie is described as a tough tackler and great communicator.

Jeff King – Joining from near neighbours Ashton United, Jeff is an attacking left winger.

Paul McManus – Desribed as a tigerish midfielder, Paul joined from Flint Town in the close season.

Michael Roddy – The 27-year-old has joined from Northwich Victoria. Michael has previously played for Lincoln City, as well as representing the Republic of Ireland at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level.


Stephen Lewis – Nicknamed ‘the beast’, Stephen has impressed during pre-season with the Bloods. The 28-year-old joins from Bangor City, having previously played with Rhyl, Bala Town and Caernarfon Town.

Liam Caddick – The 24-year-old previously played for Formby and Burscough before moving to play for Buckley Town and then Bangor City, who he joined in January 2015.
