Andy Burnham kept his Greater Manchester Mayoral campaign on track with a visit to Stalybridge station on Sunday.

There was standing room only inside The Stalybridge Buffet Bar waiting room for a group of invited Labour Party guests.

In an hour-long question and answer session he fielded questions across a range of subjects from the EU to education, the NHS to the Northern Powerhouse, austerity, housing, healthcare and, of course, transport.

He hoped his visit to Stalybridge would be his ticket to securing the Labour party vote to stand as the party’s candidate to be Mayor.

Interim Mayor and police and crime commissioner Tony Lloyd and Bury MP Ivan Lewis are also campaigning to be Labour’s candidate in the mayoral race. Andy2
