Scouting for girls and boys
Tuesday 23rd February 2016 @ 10:27 by Becky Cahill
Some pupils at a Glossop school turned up for school in a different kind of uniform.
Glossop Cub Scout leader Angela Dyson had organised a special assembly at St Mary’s Catholic Primary to raise awareness of Scout Movement founder Robert Baden Powell, and his wife, Olave, who started the Girl Guides.
That meant the school’s Cubs, Brownies and Guides ditching their school uniforms for the day.
Leaders told the assembly all about the Scout and Guide movement and youngsters spoke of what it was like being a member.
The children also created individual cross-stitch pictures which were sewn into a picture and put into a frame.
