Flood alert for Tameside and Glossop

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Mersey Uplands catchment including Hyde, Ashton, Denton, Stalybridge and Glossop as torrential downpours sweep across the region.
Rivers affected include the Goyt, Tame, Sett and Etherow and their tributaries.
Other locations which may be affected are around Mossley, New Mills, Hazel Grove, Marple, Romiley and Hyde. Low lying land and roads will be affected first.
The advice from the Environment Agency is to be prepared and for latest information and advice you can call Floodline on 0345 988 1188 for up-to-date flooding information.
Residents are advised to keep an eye on local water levels and weather conditions.
