Millbrook with Mayor

Two Tameside schools wowed more than 80,000 people last weekend after they were highly commended and commended at this year’s Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS)
Flower Show at Tatton Park.

Dowson Primary School and Millbrook featured alongside 16 other primary schools from the North West as part of the ‘Fairy Tales and Myths Come to Life’ section at this year’s show – where the 3x3m gardens were inspired by childhood stories – with Hyde school Dowson taking inspiration from the whimsical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Dowson was commended for their efforts while Millbrook were just one of four schools to be Highly Commended by judges.

More on this story in this week’s Tameside Reporter (31st July) out now.
