As Honor Murray sat on one of the benches in the small garden behind St Peter’s Catholic Primary school where she had worked for 26 years, her surroundings seemed to reflect the woman herself.

A soft, welcoming breeze created a tranquil and calm atmosphere underneath a perfectly clear sky.

It was a moment where the long-serving teacher could reflect after the wonderful surprise of being greeted by a school hall full of over-excited children, grateful members of staff and her closest family members.

All were there to pay homage to her services to the school and recognise how significant she had been in so many children’s lives.

She watched on, overwhelmed, as a version of ‘This is Your Life’ was created for her, complete with music and book.
