Steve Mahon & Robin Page (Bake & Take)

Coming soon to Ashton-Under-Lyne is a self-
service Continental deli-style bakery, known as bake & TAKE.

Due to open early May, the store is exceptionally well placed in Ladysmith Shopping Centre, at 30 Staveleigh Mall.
The store, which reaches 1,200 sq ft on the ground floor, will create up to 10 local jobs, including team members, shift leaders and a store manager role.

Only the second bake & TAKE store to open in the UK, with the first situated in Manchester city centre, the bakery is set to become the perfect meeting place in Ashton.

With an expansive, stylish indoor and outdoor seating area, combined with a selection of up to 120 fresh products and Illy coffee, bake & TAKE offers competitively priced premium food.

The bakery champions a sophisticated self-service concept, which sees consumers taking a tray on arrival and serving themselves from the display counters.

Quick and convenient, after paying, customers can choose to either eat in or pack their products in the bagging take away station.

Owned by Robin Page and Steve Mahon, the bake & TAKE store in Ashton was a conscious choice for the business partners, who both boast a formidable background in retail.
Robin says: “Ashton was a natural choice for our second bake & TAKE store, with the bustling town centre the perfect place to open a bakery of this kind.

“We believe that bake & TAKE offers consumers a truly unique experience. Freshness is the key ingredient, with all products baked in store all day every day, ensuring excellent quality.

“The self-service element means consumers will always enjoy a quick and convenient
experience in store, whether they choose to eat in or take away, which ultimately results in
exceptional customer service standards.

“There are plenty of coffee shops in the
market place but nothing quite like bake & TAKE, which we feel will add to its appeal in Ashton.”

Lyn Williams, Ladysmith Shopping Centre Manager, says: “It is wonderful news that bake & TAKE is to open at the Ladysmith Shopping Centre in April. The site where bake & TAKE will be situated lends itself to a bakery as it is a prime corner position, where visibility and footfall levels are extremely high.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our food offering and are proud to bring a taste of the Continent to shoppers in Ashton.”

bake & TAKE originates from Germany, where it is known as backWERK, with 300 well established backWERK stores across Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Romania, The Netherlands and Russia.

The bake & TAKE model is truly unique to the UK, combining one of the finest brands of coffee in the world with an impressive selection of delicious savoury and sweet products found in bakeries.
