TAMESIDE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH (WIMPOLE STREET, ASHTON UNDER LYNE) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2019 TAMESIDE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH (HENRIETTA STREET AREA, ASHTON UNDER LYNE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING AND LOADING ONLY) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2019
The Council have made the above Orders on the 11th March 2019 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and all other enabling powers the effects of which will be to experimentally:-
* Introduce One Way Traffic on Wimpole Street, Ashton under Lyne from its junction with Henrietta Street for a distance of 10 metres (to the entrance to Wimpole Street car park) in a westerly direction.
* Introduce No Loading At Any Time restrictions on Henriet- ta Street, east side, from its junction with Penny Meadow for a distance of 15 metres in a northerly direction and from a point 30 metres north of its junction with Penny Meadow to its junction with Wimpole Street.
* Introduce Loading Only bays on i) Wimpole Street from
a point 10 metres east of its junction with Henrietta Street for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction and ii) Camp Street, north side, from a point 15 metres north of its junction with Wellington Road for a distance of 34 metres in a north easterly direction.
* Introduce No Waiting at Any Time on Cowhill Lane, east side, from a point 5 metres south of Wimpole Street in a northerly direction up to and including its cul de sac end.
* Introduce bus stop clearway, 24 hours, 7 days i) Henrietta Street, east side, from a point 15 metres north of its junction with Penny Meadow for a distance of 15 metres ii) Henrietta Street, east side, from a point 7 metres north of its junction with Wimpole Street for a distance of 32 metres in a northerly direction.
Existing orders to be amended to enable new restrictions to be introduced.
The above restrictions will be introduced for an experi- mental period of up to 18 months. The Council will in due course consider whether the provisions of the Experimental Orders should continue in force indefinitely or the existing conditions be reinstated. A copy of the Orders, plans and statement of reasons, which come into operation on 22nd March 2019, may be inspected during normal office hours at Customer Services, Tameside One, Market Place, Ashton under Lyne. Objections to the restrictions being continued
in force indefinitely must be submitted in writing stating the grounds on which they are being made to the undersigned or by e-mail to [email protected], (includ- ing full name and postal address) by no later than 22nd September 2019.
