Four local primary schools have gone head-to-head to design the most eye-catching giant Easter egg to be displayed at Arcades Shopping Centre in Ashton.

The schools honing their artistic talents are St. Christopher RC Primary School, Waterloo Primary School, Heys Primary School and Holy Trinity – with each one receiving a huge polystyrene egg for a class to decorate.

Children went wild with crayons, paint and crafts in order to make their designs stand out amongst the rest, with the eggs now on display at the centre.

They are set to be shown for the duration of the Easter holidays, right up until Monday 22nd April.

Visitors to the Centre are encouraged to vote for their favourite design via an entry form and submit it to the Centre’s post-box which will be situated on the mall.

Lynne Picken, Arcades Centre Manager, said: “The giant Easter egg display on the mall will certainly brighten up our visitors’ days.

“We are delighted with the designs and want to say a big well done to all the children involved – they have done a fantastic job.”
