Man seriously injured after colliding with central reservation while on a moped

And investigation has been launched after a man was seriously injured after a crash in Ashton on Tuesday (5 February).

He was riding his white Honda moped along Lees Rd towards Oldham when he hit the central reservation.

The man, who’s in his 30’s, suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Salford Royal Hospital.

The road was shut for several hours between St Albans Avenue and Abbey Hills Road, close to Cockfields farm, whilst police investigated the scene.

Investigators are now appealing for information and want to speak to anyone who saw the incident take place or saw the moped in the area before the collision.
