Paddy Wharton has re-joined Stalybridge Celtic for a second spell until the end of the season.

The goalkeeper returns to the club having initially joined from Tranmere RoversĀ  in September. He was recruited to the squad following Jake Turner’s injury against South Shields and went on to make seven appearances for Simon Haworth’s side.

Paddy returns to Bower Fold having gained further experience during a one month loan at Marine.

Of his return, Paddy said: “First time around I really enjoyed myself and we did well as a team! But, this time round I hope we can go one step further and sneak into the playoffs as we have the players to get in there. I’m buzzing to be back!”

Celtic make the journey to Runcorn Linnets in the Cheshire Senior Cup first round on Tuesday.

Haworth’s side will then return to league action four days later with the visit of Hednesford Town.
