Hyde cricketer George Balderson has impressed while on duty with the England Under 19 squad.

Coached by Jon Lewis, the Young Lions played in a T20 international against Bangladesh Under 19s on Sunday. Despite losing by seven wickets, George scored 16 runs off 17 balls, which included one six.

George also had two spells with the ball,  in which he took no wickets for 17 runs.

The teenager was selected to represent his country after impressing at the pre-Christmas training camp in India. 

England are set to play Bangladesh in a further four games across different formats of the game, which includes two One Day International’s, and two  Test Matches. George guided Hyde’s 1st XI to the Cheshire County 1st Division title last season, which resulted in promotion back to the Premier League. He was then awarded a two year professional contract with Lancashire CCC which will start once he completes his A levels in June 2019.
