Two charged in connection with Hyde robberies

A man and woman have been charged in connection with a robbery in Hyde on Sunday night.

Police were called to Clarendon Street at around 10.55pm on October 21st to reports that three people had been robbed.

The victims had been assaulted before a handbag containing a mobile phone and other personal items was stolen.

37-year-old Nicola Jane McGuire, of Howard Place in Hyde, has now been charged with robbery and two counts of attempted robbery.

41-year-old John Humphreys, of no fixed address, has been charged with four counts of shoplifting, robbery and two counts of attempted robbery.

The pair appeared at Tameside Magistrates yesterday, where they were remanded to appear before Minshull Street Crown Court on November 22nd.
