Quest Media Network Ltd – namely the Tameside Reporter and Tameside Radio – are celebrating double delight at last night’s Pride of Tameside Business Awards.

The major awards event, which celebrates the successes of borough businesses over the last 12 months, was held at Dukinfield Town Hall.

More than 300 people enjoyed a glittering ceremony with a three course meal and live entertainment before the highly anticipated awards got underway, hosted by broadcaster Andy Crane.

Tameside Council Executive Leader Cllr Brenda Warrington welcomed everyone to the event, praising the borough’s businesses and stating that this year’s awards had received more entries than ever before, demonstrating how highly valued the Pride Award accolade has become.

In a highly competitive field Quest Media retained the Digital, Creative or Media Business of the Year award which the business was so proud to have won for the first time last year.

Judges said Tameside Reporter and Tameside Radio were a “quality asset to the local community” and were impressed that “Quest Media had a clear outline of their role as a media outlet with a diverse, multi-platform approach”.

Social media and management firm Digital Flamingo was Highly Commended in a category in which no less than eight businesses had been shortlisted.

Quest Media also scooped the Social Enterprise Business of the Year Award.

The Judges said they were impressed that Quest Media have “incredible reach and collaboration with local and national charities, creating engaging and lasting partnerships. Alongside a strong commitment to local employment, they provide opportunities to students in the creative sector. Quest Media are an exemplary social media enterprise providing lasting benefits to the borough.”

Sales and Marketing Executive Sherrilee Jones and Editor Nigel Skinner accepted the awards on behalf of the business.

Nigel said it was an honour to receive the awards on behalf of everyone who worked and volunteered at the Tameside Reporter and Tameside Radio.

“The business’ support for good causes like Tameside 4 Good and the Bring A Pound Day on behalf of Macmillan – which has now raised more than £10,000 for the cancer charity in just the two days held over the last two years – could not happen without everyone’s hard work and dedication to bring the entire community together in a common cause,” said Nigel.

Chair of the Pride of Tameside Business Awards Louise Marshall hailed another successful business awards event, stating: “These awards demonstrate the best this region has to offer, celebrating and recognising outstanding businesses from different sectors and inspirational individuals from across Tameside. Entry quality was extremely high and our thanks go to all of our judges who had the unenviable task of shortlisting and choosing the winners.”
