Police in Tameside are investigating a number of reports of a man exposing himself and behaving inappropriately in Stamford Park.

The reports say the man has been approaching women who are walking their dogs, following lone walkers and hiding in bushes, all on Sunday mornings.

He’s described as in his 20s, with tanned or olive skin, medium-length dark hair that is sometimes gelled back.

On most occasions, he’s been seen wearing a black t-shirt and black jogging bottoms but one report described him wearing salmon pink bottoms, while another said he was riding a silver bicycle.

He’s predominately spotted at the Sycamore end of the park and in the “Dingle”.

Inspector Andrew Holden from GMP’s Tameside borough said: “We are currently searching for a man in connection with several incidents in the area and we are hoping someone may recognise the description and be able to help us identify him.

“These incidents are happening in broad daylight on Sunday mornings, we have increased patrols in the area in the hope that we can find him ourselves, but are appealing for anyone who sees anyone acting suspiciously to either tell a patrolling officer or call police as soon as possible.

“We are taking this matter incredibly seriously and hope to put an end to these incidents as soon as we can.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 9350, alternatively call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
