Droylsden FC have launched a season ticket initiative to attract the next generation of supporters to the club.

Every player registered with Droylsden Juniors FC can attend every senior league and cup game to encourage youngsters to come along and support the team as it begins the new season in the Evo-Stik West Division.

Bloods’ manager, Dave Pace, handed over the season tickets to long-standing Juniors’ Chief Executive Officer, Alan Bradbury, who was delighted to accept on behalf of the hundreds of juniors in the junior setup.

Bradbury, who received an MBE in 2007 for his work with Droylsden Youth Club explained: “We have forty plus sides now from aged five through to seventeen, so this is a nice gesture that helps us further cement the link between the juniors and the seniors and we will be distributing them before the season starts on the 18th August at home to Runcorn Linnets.”

Commenting on the connection between the juniors and seniors Dave Pace commented: “This is a brilliant initiative and it makes obvious sense to make it easier for Droylsden junior players to be able to see the standard of the adult league and enjoy being part of the wider club. We hope to see lots of them at the ground throughout the season.”

Droylsden will be competing in the newly-formed Evo-Stik West League alongside local rivals Mossley and Glossop North End. Pace is optimistic about their chances in the new regionalised division: “We’re probably up there as one of the favourites now some of the other sides have either been promoted or been allocated in the Evo-Stik East group. It also means we have less travelling which is a pleasant bonus.

“We have pulled off some excellent signings and the team is taking shape nicely. We’ve also spruced up the ground with the help of the Supporters’ Club and volunteers, so we hope fans will take on board the positivity at the club as we kick off the new season.”

Droylsden complete their pre-season schedule at home against Witton Albion on Saturday 11th August at 3pm.
