Two people have been charged after a teenager was stabbed in Droylsden earlier this week.

Police were called to reports of fighting on Old Farm Crescent on Monday evening. The crowd had dispersed when they arrived but they found 16-year-old boy with stab wounds to his side. He remains in hospital but is making a good recovery.

Now, a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with attempted murder and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

18-year-old Mikey Whittaker, of Hawthorne Road South in Ashton, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis.

They both appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court yesterday (June 27th) and are next due to appear on July 25th.
