Swimmers make a splash at Greater Manchester Meet

Ashton Swimming Club’s Ben Haughton, Callum Shaw, and Harry Trefla made a splash at the Greater Manchester Inter Association Meet on Sunday.

The trio, who were personally selected to represent Greater Manchester, came second overall.

Ben competed in six races and claimed five personal bests. He secured a gold medal in the 100m Free and a bronze medal in the mixed Under 14 400m free relay.

Harry Swam in the 200m Free and came fifth, setting a new personal best of 2:36:61, while Callum swam in the 200m Fly and came 8th with a fantastic time of 3:17:04.

Following the race, Ashton’s Facebook account posted a statement: “These boys – along with the other swimmers at Ashton – train so hard and we are so proud of them and all they are accomplishing. Well done and keep up the good work.”
