It was another sunny day as a full round of league fixtures could finally be completed in the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket League


Division 1

Hawk Green chose to bat at home to Dinting and smashed 361-7, Josh Unsworth with 39, Josh Hampson 49, Pete Richards continuing his fine early season form with 114, Ben Littler 60 and Lee Hallas 31 not out while Ryan Stringer took 3-81.  In reply Dinting were 155 all out, Sam Elliott unbeaten on 46 as Lee Hallas took 3-36 and Mark Richards 4-26.  Woodley were bowled out for 179 by hosts Mottram, Harrison Webb with 40 and D Oldland 42 as Oliver Andrew took 4-39.  Mottram lost 3 early wickets but Liam Tongue (68*) and Oliver Andrew (80*) saw them home with a partnership of 136.  Tintwistle posted 144-5 as they entertained Hayfield, D Weatherhead with 58.  Gareth Davies then scored 32 but S Charnley took 4-28 and Martin Harris 4-16, all assisted by 3 catches from Karl Handforth as Hayfield were all out for 109.  Broadbottom posted 218-9 at home to Dove Holes, the visitors falling well short on 134 all out.


Division 2

Hazel Grove were asked to bat as they travelled to Hadfield and were 97 all out, Dominic Nunn with 37 as Liam Doyle took 5-14.  Openers Jonny Tranter (51) and G Snowball (36) then made no mistake as Hadfield cruised to 101-0.  Compstall were bowled out for just 103 by visiting New Mills, Josh Stevens taking 3-24.  D Coverely was then 30 not out as New Mills secured a 5 wicket win.  Newton batted first having won the toss at Whaley Bridge and made 210-5, G Finan with 34, Nick Tansella 46, Mark Stringer 35< A Turner 33 and Lee Turner 32.  In reply Luke Schofiled hit 30, Elliott Simmonds 45 and Matt Slack 60 but Mark Stringers 3-45 helped restrict the home side to 206-9.  Old Glossop hit 181-9 as they batted first at home to Buxworth, Lenny Allsopp unbeaten on 50 as Joe Hall took 3-27.  Knocks from S Marchington (30), Steve Leatherbarrow (40) and 41 not out from Alan Reynolds saw Buxworth to 182-4 and a 6 wicket victory.


Division 3

Stalybridge opted to bat at home to Chapel and posted 191 all out, A Harwick with 51 while J Gyte taking 3-37.  In reply Chapel were all out for 119, J Beswick with figures of 4-15.  Offerton were 186 all out batting first at home to High Lane, James Carley with 45, Ian Bates 34 and Pete Smith with 31 as James McCarthy took 3-10.  In reply Jonny Marshall hit a fine 100 but Adam Davies took 5-44 and J Kirkham 3-42 as High Lane came up just short on 168 all out.  Birch Vale were asked to bat by visiting Holligworth and were 218 all out., M Walsh with 46 as U Siddique took 3-55 and J Halliday 3-24. Pete Morris then hit 38 and S Bird 32 but Phil Trueman took 3-7 and N Kennedy 3-14 as Hollingworth were all out for 152.  In a tight game at Pott Shrigley the home side limped to 113-8 in their 45 overs against Charlesworth, Gaz Evans taking 3-16 and Jonny Wardle 3-31.  S Gilham then hit 30 as Matt Begen-Jackson took 6-35, but it wasn’t to be enough as the visitors won by 1 wicket finishing 114-9.


Division 4

Hawk Green were bowled out for 137 at New Mills, Jordan Henderson hitting 44, J Blackhurst 35 and George Ridings 35.  Ridings then took 3-15 to help bowl out the home side for 105.  Broadbottom were asked to bat by hosts Dove Holes and were all out for 107 as J Norton took 4-23.  B Bagshaw then struck 35 as Dove Holes closed 116-6, C Hurfort taking 3-18 for the visitors.  Tintwistle were 142 all out batting first at Newton, S Barrow with 55 and J Booth 33 as Charlie Barnard took 4-41 and M Hyde 3-20.  G Penney then hit 32 but Ethan Tomlinson took 3-27 as the home side could only reach 108-9.  Woodley posted 178-9 as they batted first at home to Mottram, C Wilson with 46, Jack Trowsdale 38 and P Pannett 33 as S Scott took 4-23 and J Collinson 3-29.  Dave Hotson then took 5-17 as Mottram collapsed to 75 all out.


Division 5

Hazel Grove were bowled out for 88 having elected to bat at home to Birch Vale, with Steve Burns hitting 41 in the reply with the visitors easing to 91-2.  Hayfield were all out for 173 at home to Stalybridge, Dave Aldridge with 86.  Stalybridge saw Khalid Akram hit 61 but it was not to be enough as Staly fell agonisingly short on 164 all out.  Dinting hit a massive 246-5 batting first at home to Compstall, Matt Coleman with 45 and G Draper 95 with A Radcliffe adding 35.  R Townsend then took 3-5 as Compstall were all out for 92.


Division 6

Buxworth entertained Offerton and were 128-5 in their 45 overs.  D Scholes then hit 38 as Offerton raced to 133-2.  Hollingworth were all out for 144 as they hosted Hadfield, Simon Lee with 42 and J Cook 30.  Rick Ball then hit 64 and Chris Tranter 35 as Hadfield lost just two wickets in reaching their target.  Charlesworth were bowled out for 97 as they hosted Pott Shrigley, A Miller with 34.  P Cocks then hit 41 as Pott Shriglet chased their target for the loss of 5 wickets.  Whaley Bridge conceded their fixture to Chapel.
