Hyde United manager Darren Kelly has wasted no time in planning for the 2018/19 season, with a host of players opting to stay at Ewen Fields for the club’s venture in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

Having enjoyed a memorable campaign, which included an FA Cup first round appearance against MK Dons live on BBC Two, the Tigers secured promotion with one game to spare and can now look forward to a local rivalry against Stalybridge Celtic, who will be under the new management team of Simon Haworth and Gareth Roberts.

The first player to have committed for next season is striker Tom Pratt, who joined from Trafford having been lethal in front of goal for Mossley during his three years at Seel Park. He subsequently won the club’s Golden Boot Award after scoring 17 goals.

Midfielder Ross Daly is also staying at Ewen Fields, having joined mid season from Scarborough Athletic, while full back Kyle Brownhill has also agreed new terms.

Brownhill will be joined at the back by Kyle Harrison, who has played 75 games for the Tigers following previous stints with  Farsley, Mossley and Guiseley.

Another on the retained list is winger Chris Sutherland, who will be hoping for better luck next season after spending large parts of the previous one on the sidelines with a calf injury.

Janni Lipka, who won the Players’ Player, Manager’s Player and Supporters’ Player, has also agreed to stay, along with strikers Luke Porritt and Karl Jones, as well as goalkeeper Peter Crook.
