Teenage boy charged with Derker Metrolink stop attack

A teenage boy has been charged in connection with an attack at Derker Metrolink stop last month.

At around 7.30pm on Thursday March 22nd, police were called to the car park at Derker. The victim had been dragged out of his car and attacked, leaving him need hospital treatment for a fractured skull and badly severed ear. His car was stolen and later recovered by police.

Now, a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

He has been bailed to appear at Tameside Youth Court on Tuesday May 1st.

A 16-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains on bail pending further enquiries until May 14th.
