Mossley’s search for a mid-table finish continues this evening with a trip to Radcliffe Borough, who currently sit two places and three points below the Lilywhites in 19th spot.

Both sides have endured disappointing seasons so far and the Lilywhites acted on this last month by firing long-term assistant managers Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison after nearly five whole seasons in charge.

The duo were replaced at the end of March by Stockport Town manager Dave Wild and former Glossop assistant Terry Hincks, who immediately stamped their authority at Seel Park by claiming back-to-back victories against Ramsbottom United and Ossett Town.

The pair were unfortunate not to extend their unbeaten start to three matches, instead conceding a late goal in a 1-0 defeat at Brighouse Town. However, they enter tonight’s fixture unbeaten in two games after draws against Glossop North End and Prescot Cables.

Tonight’s hosts are managed by former Manchester City striker John Macken, who took the role in September 2017 with the aim of reversing the club’s poor start to the season, which had seen them lose four of their opening five league fixtures.

During his seven months with the club, Macken has been unable to guide the club to the upper reaches of the table and instead finds his charges 11 points above the drop zone. Radcliffe did, however, preserve their status as a step eight club at the weekend with a 2-1 victory at Tadcaster Albion.

Unburdened by the threat of relegation, tonight’s encounter promises to be an open and entertaining games.

Venue: Stainton Park

Kick-Off: 7.45pm
