After a record 2017, Droylsden-based company Manchester Metrology got 2018 off to a positive start after a networking event at the Etihad Stadium.

The ‘Measure Anything’ event saw the stadium come alive with the industry’s leading Metrology companies such as Manchester Metrology, FARO, Optimax and Renishaw, all of whom bought their metrology, 3D scanning, FARO arms and reverse engineering equipment.

Over 65 leading engineering firms from across the North West attended the event, which offered them the opportunity to discuss latest technology and innovation in the metrology sector, some of which was showcased through live demonstrations.

Paul Bulman, Managing Director of Manchester Metrology (pictuered top), commented: “It was really great to see such a broad range of engineering firms in attendance, confirming the growth and stability of manufacturing in the region.”

Since its inception in 2008, Manchester Metrology has become a market leader in the inspection of engineered components with a record turnover of £1.7m in 2017.

The company, based at the Greenside Training Centre, aims to maintain future sustainable growth and expansion, with a £700k investment in the latest metrology equipment in 2017 – Aberlink Xtreme, CNC CMM, Leica and Cybergage 360.

Staff numbers have more than doubled in size since 2015, from 5 to 13. The company’s long term partnership with equipment supplier, FARO, and the significant investment in new technology has enabled Manchester Metrology to become a UK leader in the inspection of engineered components, offering an extensive range of equipment hire packages and on-site services.
