Evo-Stik First Division North
Droylsden 1-3 Prescot Cables

In blizzard conditions at the Butcher’s Arms Prescot Cables claimed all three points.

Cables took a first half lead when Chris Almond beat the offside trap to slot the ball past Branagan inside ten minutes.
Cables looked by far the more dangerous team in the first half, two mistakes at the back nearly letting in Josh Kleine Davies and Harry Cain respectively.

But against the run of play, Droylsden equalised just before half time, as Valten Fernandez deflected a cross into his own net.

As the snow came down in the second half, the visitors reasserted their lead when Shaquille Antoine-Clarke scored the game’s second own goal, deflecting a cross into his own net.

Prescot made it three in the last few minutes. Josh Kline Davies putting the game to bed.

The result leaves the Bloods in 12th spot ahead of Tuesday’s clash at Glossop North End.
