Curzon Ashton have confirmed the signing of defender Will Beesley from Chorley.

The 23-year-old left-back began his career at Blackburn Rovers, where he featured in their 2012 FA Youth Cup final against Chelsea, before joining national League outfit Southport.

Beesley then moved to Chorley on loan in 2016, although an injury shortened his spell with the Magpies.

Such was his impact at Victory park, beesley returned to Chorley the following summer and has spent the past 18 months with Matt Jansen’s side.

Speaking to Curzon’s official website, manager John Flanagan said: “We’re pleased to welcome Will to club. He’s a player that we’ve had our eye on for a while and has impressed since he started training with the squad. The stats that he has produced on the PlayerTek GPS tracking system have shown the exceptional qualities that he had in terms of his fitness and desire while also showing fantastic technical ability.”

“He’s the right age and fits into our profile for player recruitment, so we felt we couldn’t turn down the opportunity to secure him for the remainder of the season, particularly with next season in mind.”

Although the signing was confirmed on Saturday morning, Beesley wasn’t selected for the game later that day, in which Curzon lost 1-0 at Darlington.
