The gripping and gothic horror Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is appearing now at The Royal Exchange Theatre until April 14.

This new adaptation is by celebrated playwright April De Angelis and marks 200 years since the publication of this famous gothic novel which is directed by Associate Artistic Director Matthew Xia.

Captain Walton’s ambition to conquer the North Pole is disrupted when he is trapped in a mountain of ice.

Victor Frankenstein is dragged on board from the frozen wastes. This monstrous classic recounts the story of a young scientist and a monstrous creation as the ice breaks and the ship creaks to life.

Victor Frankenstein is played by Shane Zara (Happy Valley, Road at Royal Court).

Frankenstein is a dark psychological thriller which contains violence and comes with an age guidance of suitable for fourteens and over.
