Tameside Netball Club’s Premier 1 squad have claimed back-to-back victories to move to fourth in the table.

The squad returned from Premier Romans on Sunday with a 66-46 victory.

Following an impressive performance on court, Ally Thomas was voted as the Mizuno Netball Player of the Match.

The Premier 1 squad are without a league fixture this weekend but return to action on Sunday, February 25, at home to Viper 10 Blades.

In other news, the Regional Premier squad were pipped to victory by Bury, losing 54-51.

The result leaves Tameside in fourth spot on 50 points, having won nine and drawn four of their 13 games so far. The squad return to action on Saturday, February 24, with a trip to sixth place Blackpool.

Following the result on Saturday, Tameside coach Lauren Palmer tweeted: “Valiant effort this morning by @TamesideNC Regional Prem. Just missing out 54-51 to Bury. A team of 16/17 year olds putting out the performance they did was outstanding. Impressive debut by Laura Mallinder. Just couldn’t see the game out in the end. Credit to Bury. Player of the Match, Ella and Brogan.

Elsewhere, the Under 9 squads claimed two victories on Sunday morning against two good Trafford teams. The scores ended 9-5 and 14-1.
